(mibr) When the Giesenkirchen city based entrepreneur Achim Schulz invites for an Indo-German meeting, there will be a round table for consultants, administration experts, politicians, scientists and entrepreneurs. The CEO of the Giesenkirchen-based plastics specialist Diamant Metallplastic is the co-founder of the Indo German Technology Institute (IGIT) in Bangalore and as such not only an accounted India expert (his company has been there since the 1980s) but also an experienced networker. Schulz presented even six interdisciplinary projects during the "1st Rhine-India-Day" in Moenchengladbach. Next to his Indian partners, amongst which was his Joint Venture-Partner Gopal Srivastava there were also scientists of the RWTH Aachen, of TU Braunschweig and of University of Applied Sciences Niederrheln for cooperation discussions in Giesenkirchen.

For example the RWTH Aachen and TU Braunschweig are working meticulously with experts of Diamant for a product to repair cracks in steel bridges at low costs and without welding using the sealing products of Diamant. The initiators see possible applications for the partially ailing infrastructure in India. "The product is in the testphase but the Indian partners have already signaled interest", hopes Professor Stefan Boehm of TU Braunschweig.

The iNano Institute of University of Applied Sciences Niederrheln (Professor Juergen BueddefeId) is cooperating with Diamant in another project to design new biotech products together with the specialists. Also here it is a fact: contracts have not yet been signed. "First we have to convince the chancellor of the University that we as an industrial enterprise may join", so Schulz.

Representatives of the Rhine-County Neuss (Hildegard Fuhrmann), where the German-Indian office is residing, of the Chamber of Commerce Mittlerer Niederrheln (Stefan Enders), of the Foreign Trade Association NRW (Andreas Mühlberg) and the Federal Ministry for Research (Dr. Lothar Menniken) listened with great interest to the ideas. No representative of the hosting city of Moenchengladbach had come to the Indo-German meeting but from the city of Korschenhroich.
