Subject Hannover Fair. Fair business is not a fast seller even at the world's largest industrial show, 15 Moenchengladbach-based machine engineering companies found out exhibiting together with the Economical Development Department. Much easier however for those having end users in India.
5,000 exhibitors from 60 countries, 150,000m² exhibition ground, 15 halls. No dount, the Hannover Fair International HMI is a large event. Yet, the companies from Moenchengladbach can be found easily. A huge balloon over the mutual booth outshines everything. The Economical Development Department of Moenchengadbach WFMG had it installed, supported for a third time by the Volksbank. You need ideas when participating in the world's largest industrial fair - not necessary however for M/s Diamant Metalplastic, producers of protective and special coatings for the metal industries, whose booth is constantly surrounded by (international) visitors. Russians, Nigerians and many Indians seek the discussion with the 12 staff members. "We are exporting 65% of our products", explains Achim Schulz, Managing Partner, the international interest. "We were one of the very first German enterprises when we made our first Joint Venture in India in 1996." This is why India as a Partner Country of the Hannover Fair is fitting perfectly. The trip to Lower Saxony weas successful for the Diamant Team. Ulrich Frey of the Indian company Shanti Gears showcases his tooth wheel models next to the Diamant booth. He, too, is delighted with the emphasis on India. Shanti Gears has become the leader for tooth wheel systems in the growth area.... On the other side of the 144m² booth tunes are moody. "We hardly had any contact in the first days", says Klaus Cremer, CEO of Heinrich Cremer GmbH, producers of machine tool casings. He wanted to sound new markets after hard economical times, e.g. in the food industries. "No success so far", he says... Dr. Ulrich Schueckhaus, CEO of WFMG, knows about such problems. "We will offer this participation as long as it is required by the enterprises", he says. Moreover, the mutual showcasing strengthens the 'We-Feeling' of the machine engineering companies in Moenchengladbach. There is only one thing that WFMG cannot produce: "Get potential end users to visit the booth." |
